On August 24th, FM99 crowned Rock Girl Suvanna, the 14th woman to hold the coveted Rock Girl position. Rick Rumble hosted the finale event at Bayside Harley-Davidson in Portsmouth.
Each Summer, FM99 holds a Rock Girl Search to find the new face of the station. The Rock Girl will host events at client locations, participate in charity events, attend concerts, and be part of videos and photos at various sponsor locations. The search started with a roster of 20 women who made appearances at our annual blood drive and various client locations and did photos shoots all while soliciting votes from FM99 listeners. 10 women made the final cut, continuing with events and appearances, including hosting a car wash to raise money for the FM99 Christmas Wish Fund, the station’s own charity.
Suvanna is a Newport News native who is a pediatric nurse at CHKD in Norfolk. She graduated from Radford University and has a 2-year-old daughter.
